Che Sudaka met as immigrants (some of them illegal) in the streets of Barcelona and played their first many concerts here – in the streets, in bars, in the subway…
The band has since the early days toured all around Spain and Europe with live-performances that are almost legend. Wild and dedicated. The style is a mix of ska, reggae, punk and mestizaje. A street-style that e.g. Manu Chao is also famous for. Che Sudaka and Manu Chao are in fact friends from the old Barcelona-days, and, besides music, they share the same political views. That one have to watch out carefully and first of all to keep the hearts pure, but be alert since in this world everything is going the other way round (al revés). That our money will be spent to save banking houses, but not to save humans. That one has to preserve the utopia, in order not to die („utopía para no morir“).
The year 2012 is going to be a special year for Che Sudaka, as it will be the tenth year since their official formation on March 15th 2002. Moreover the concert-counter is going to exceed the number 1,000: one thousand shows in 23 countries! Their new album (with the appropriate title “10”) was released in the end of 2011. Even 10 years has gone, the energy is the same as the day a group of immigrants arrived in Europe, with all hope of this world as their luggage.
