Klezmofobia (DK)
Klezmer
Friday 17th February / Doors at 21:00 / Tickets at the door: 80 kr (60 kr. for students)
Klezmofobia is Yiddish cheerfulness and melancholy. A powerful and fascinating mix of old Jewish klezmer and modern rock. It’s dance music, complete with emotions and moods.
Over almost 10 years the Copenhagen based orchestra has been one of the most active bands on the Danish World Music scene (over 500 concerts). They are also one of the absolute reasons why klezmer music has developed into one of the most popular genres in the alternative Copenhagen night life with stuffed concerts and parties.
The concert at Global is the first one on a tour round Denmark, where Klezmofobia will present their upcoming album. An album the group has produced together with Dragi Sestic, who is the man behind several highly acclaimed World Music and Balkan related releases. E.g. Saban Bajramovich, Ljiljana Buttler and Mostar Sevdah Reunion.
The message from Klezmofobia is clear: Let’s have a wild party with space for both joy and the bitter tear!
